A couple of cavy's are staying in our living room for fun
Because our house has a country and western appearance, we decided we would like to make a cage where you can see the appearance
We found some really nice wooden cages on this German site
Tinas-Nagerpension im Herzen des Ruhrgebietes
We got the idea from this site and adjusted it to our style

We first built a table to build the upper cage on.
The idea is to build another cage right underneath this table

We burned a painting on the back of the cage in western style

This is the result

We burned a catus on the front edge

Everything is enamelled in a wood colour

After 2 times enamelling you get a nice and deep warm colour

After that the outside is being attached firmly

To protect everything better, the whole construction is enamelled 2 more times with parquet floor enamel

On the inside we attached some plexiglass.
This way the hay stays in the cage

The bottle is being held in the cage by a wooden circel.
This is exactly made for the size of the bottlecap so it's being held well

By attaching a aluminium bar, we can use plexiglass to colse the cage from the front, but we can still remove it if we want to clean the cage

Here you can see the cage placed in our living room

The front is being placed loosely to the front as some sort of facade
By using articualtions the front is being attached firmly

The upper cage is done
The lower cage is being made the same way but without the table construction
with a high back wall of wood and 2 open side walls

A innerwall is being placed vertically in this cage so there is enough space for 2 compartiments in 1 cage

An aluminium bar is being placed on the plexiglass with bolts and screws

This is what the the cage looks like with the 2 compartiments

On this cage there is a facade placed too

This is what the whole construction looks like
De cages are placed on wheeles so the whole thing can be moved away easily
so it makes it easier to clean the whole thing
